RETIRED BREEDERS

From time to time we have older kittens that were evaluating as potential breeders, or breeders that we decided to retire from our breeding program. We will post any of these cats in this section.

Rockcreek Chantilly Lace
Seal Lynx Colorpoint

This is our incredible Lacey. Lacey, a seal lynx colorpoint, is a total lap cat, that won't let you watch TV without her. She is also a talker. She will let you know if you forget to feed her. Lacey wants to be your best buddy, instead of a mommy, so we granted her wish. They have both been spayed and are ready to go. If you are interested in either girl, email or call.

UPCOMING KITTENS

Spring has finally arrived at Rock Creek Ranch Ragdolls. Our girls have been mated with the boys, and we are awaiting the arrival of our 2011 fall litters. We are so excited to welcome our new litters of kittens. If you are interested in a particular kitten, send us an email and let us know.

Rockcreek Tasty CakeUSAPurrs Sunshushine Kid

We are so excited for the arrival of Kasey and Sunny's kittens. This is the first litter for both of them. Kasey had 2 female blue mitted kittens. They are just adorable as you can see. Since these girls are the first ever kittens from theses lines, we are going to keep them both in our breeding program.

KITTEN POLICY INFORMATION

PET KITTEN DEPOSITS $250.00

SHOW AND BREEDER DEPOSITS $500.00

DEPOSITS ARE NON-REFUNDABLE

Kittens are born in a queening suite in the kitten room. At approximately 4-5 weeks, they graduate to the kitten room play area to begin learning how to use the litter box, and eating solid food. At approximately 8 weeks of age, they are able to leave the kitten room, and enter the house to socialize with all the other cats, our Cavalier puppy named Molly, and learn all about the sights and sounds of a normal, busy house. Next, we are off to the vet, for our well kitten check and first vaccinations.

Your Rock Creek Ranch Ragdoll kitten will be ready to go at approximately 12-14 weeks of age. By that time, your kitten will have been checked out by our veterinarian, spayed or neutered, had their age appropriate vaccines, been de-wormed, and had a dose of Revolution. They will have learned how to use the litterbox, and a scratching pad, and wil have learned all the social skills necessary to be healthy, loving, companions.

Our cats and kittens are seen by a Certified Feline Specialist, which is a vet that has advanced training and certification, specializing in working with cats and kittens. She knows all of our cats here at Rock Creek Ranch, and can testify to how very healthy our breeding cats are. No money is spared in the care of our cats. Our cats and kittens are fed the highest quality wet and dry food. We spend the extra time and money, to cook our kittens a varied diet, so that they will love to eat, and not be picky eaters. We believe in a high protein diet, to build strong muscles and boning.

Your new kitten will come with a goodie bag that is filled with food (wet and dry), litter, scratching pad, teaser wands, peacock feather, and assorted cat toys, and balls. This should not inhibit your ability to shop to your hearts content for your new baby, but it will give you a good start!

Our kittens are trained to use a scratching pad, as soon as they are walking around and show an interest in scratching. We believe that scratching is instinctual, but when properly trained and directed, they will use their claws in the proper areas, and not harm your furniture or drapes. Here is an article from Cat Claws, Inc., where we purchase the scratching pads that you are given, when you pick up your kitten.

Pet Quality Kitten-A pet quality kitten is a kitten that is less than perfectly marked, or may have some other disqualifying feature that would prevent them from being shown. All pet quality kittens are spayed or neutered.

Show Quality Alter- A show quality alter kitten is a kitten that is perfectly or near perfectly marked, and could be shown in TICA or CFA organized cat shows.

Breeding or Show/Breeding Quality Kittens- A breeding or show/breeding quality kitten is a kitten that has some outstanding trait, that woud be valuable to a breeding program. Breeder or Show/Breeders are sold to approved registered catteries, that practice early spay/neuter, and HCM DNA test all of the breeding cats.

There are many reasons that a cat or kitten may choose not to use a litter box. Illness, a new environment, change in the type of litter that is being used. The following article, may shed some light on litter box probles, and their possible solutions.

Kitten Shipping and Delivery

Your kitten is very important to us, and it does not end when  you purchase the kitten of your dreams. We have couriers that will hand deliver to any airport, both in the United States, and around the world. Email us if you have any questions about our delivery service , both here and abroad.

Please Do Not Declaw! If you are not familiar with what is done during the actual procedure, please see: http://www.declawing.com/ Declawing is an irreversible surgical procedure that involves amputating the last joint of the cat's "toes."
When I begin handling newborn kittens, I make sure to massage their paws gently to get them used to having them touched. From the time your kitten is walking and playing, I will trim it's claws. You will be amazed at how quickly trimming can be accomplished once you become practiced, especially when kitty's claws are trimmed at an early age.

ALTERNATIVE TO DECLAWING:

I find that baby nail clippers work the best. I simply cradle the kitty in my lap in a brightly lit location (often sitting on the carpet in front of my patio door). I do the front paws first because kitty tends to wiggle the most with the trimming in plain view. I gently squeeze the foot pad to extent the claw and then simply nip off the "clear" tip of the claw, being sure to avoid the "pink" or quick. Front claws have five nails, the back - four. I reward with some healthy kitty treats and lots of praise when I'm done. This little tip will make a big difference in kitty's behavior next time!

Play Toys: Kittens love to play. Provide harmless outlets for all that energy by supplying toys that are safe. Please don't let your kitten play with string or thread that can be eaten. A few suggestions: feather toys, catnip toys, jingle balls and catnip mats.
